Social Justice Project

You Can Make an Impact poster featuring photographs of children with red coloring and white typography

Project Overview

This social justice project focused on raising awareness of poverty in Guatemala and encouraging viewers to learn how they could help. I created a poster and matching sticker featuring the message “You Can Make an Impact” and directing viewers to Impact Ministries’ website.

Design Challenge

The challenge was to bring attention to a serious issue while giving viewers an encouraging call to action. The designs needed to draw people in and communicate that they could make a difference.

Approach

I paired photographs of children with the phrase “You Can Make an Impact,” keeping the people and message central to the design. A red color treatment connected the imagery, while white typography helped the headline stand out. I used outlined lettering to emphasize “An Impact” while allowing the imagery to remain visible. I then carried these elements into a circular sticker to create a consistent look across both pieces.

Outcome

The final poster and sticker shared the same imagery, colors, and message. The poster invited viewers to learn more about poverty in Guatemala and how they could help, while the sticker carried the main message into a smaller format. Both included the organization’s website as a next step.
